It is frustrating to open someone else's Flash project to see the generic symbol names listed in the Library panel. Without descriptive names, you can click on each asset in the Library one by one to preview and rename them, but the process of renaming may break animations that are set up to use the generically named symbols. Home / Articles / Adobe Flash / Using Symbols and the Library in Flash MX. Using Symbols and the Library in Flash MX. Using the movie expolorer. The Rename command lets you change the name of the selected symbol in the Library. If you choose Edit in Place or Edit in New Window, Flash will open the selected symbol in symbol-editing mode.
There is no Adobe supplied extension that allows for this behavior because it is a practice that you should not be following. In fact if you set multiple objects on the stage to the same instance name, any code you try to run against that instance name will only apply to one of the objects on the stage with that instance name, not all of them. I've tested this in Adobe Flash CC 2014 and multiple objects with the same instance name fail to update homogeneously when they all have the same instance name.–Sep 10 '14 at 4:47.
Hi,At my workplace, we have two 27' Mac computers. In 2015 I purchased a two-machine licence for Creative Suite Design Standard. All was well, until yesterday when the member of my staff who uses one of the machines booted up and couldn't load either Photoshop or InDesign - they just crashed immediately. After a bit of internet research we decided the best thing was to try uninstalling both programmes and starting from scratch - unfortunately, the uninstaller wouldn't work either (instantly crashed). I deleted what I could by putting the programmes in the trash and tried a new install, but I got the error message:'We've encountered the following issues: Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.'
The link to the Support Advisor just shows a message saying that it has been discontinued.More digging on the net, and I found a video on YouTube of a guy with a similar issue who managed to install his through terminal. I tried that and it didn't work.I've never used Cloud but I decided maybe I could download and install the software that way. Initially Cloud wouldn't install either, but then I updated my Mac OS to the new Sierra and at last, Cloud did work.
I then managed to download and install the Photoshop 7-day trial version. The problem with that is, I want to enter my Design Suite serial key so that it works as a full version but I can't see how to do that and indeed, if it is even possible. When I click on the account link it just comes up with a screen asking me to choose a monthly payment package.I can see from the internet these problems have become very common. I am disappointed and frustrated that an expensive software package I purchased only a year or so ago is now refusing to work.Photoshop and InDesign are vital to what we do here. Fortunately they are still working on my (older) 27' Mac and so I have lent that machine to my colleague whilst I try to sort out his.For anyone who can help, this Mac is a Mid 2015 Retina 27-inch with a 3.3Ghz i5 processor. The Photoshop and InDesign we had installed were part of CS6.Flash Player won't update either, it gets to 90% installed then it just freezes.Any help would be appreciated.
